Yoga to Enjoy is suitable for all fitness levels. If you have never been near a yoga mat, or if you have practiced for years and crave a challenge, or if you are somewhere in between, my mission is to bring you yoga which you will ENJOY! You will be guided to SAFELY challenge barriers which aren't serving you, while going through a moving meditation.
Yoga to Enjoy classes are primarily Vinyasa or Hatha Style. Vinyasa yoga connects breath with movement as one flows through a series of poses. In a Hatha practice, there is stillness between each pose.
All classes begin with specific breathing exercises to bring the awareness inward, and to warm up the spine. Vinyasa classes tend to be a 'slow flow,' with the challenge coming from mindful intention with every move. Many poses in the Hatha series are held for a full minute, allowing for deep stretches and building endurance and concentration. Throughout all this, a moving meditation is incorporated to help prepare you for final Savasana, when you get to lay on your backs and enjoy the fantastic feeling you created from within, as you let your mind relax.
Virginia Ringseth is the Instructor and Founder of Yoga to Enjoy. Virginia’s love of fluid body movement began at age seven, when her Mom took her to her first ballet class. Virginia went on to compete in junior high gymnastics, but her participation was halted due to a diagnosis of severe scoliosis, requiring a back brace for two years, then major surgery followed by a body cast for the next eight months. Many years later, in 1998, Virginia's yoga journey began when she was seeking health and vitality after multiple abdominal surgeries, several months of radiation targeting all major organs, and two years of chemotherapy as a result of a Stage III Colon Cancer diagnosis at age 28. Additionally she was battling stiffness and pain due to the scoliosis and a steel rod implanted in her spine.
Virginia's first yoga class challenged her mentally and physically, and she couldn't believe how HAPPY and HEALTHY she felt afterwards. The joy and comfort it brought was life-changing, and she has since logged over 3000 hours of studio practice in her 24 year yoga journey.
In 2017, Virginia commenced her study of yoga to become a teacher. Since earning her certification, she has taught over 300 classes in multiple locations and formats....studios, gyms, community centers, private classes, outdoor parks, and online. Continuing education with Warriors at Ease supported her belief that yoga is for everybody, and her passion is to guide others to reap the benefits of this ancient practice which delivers timeless well-being.
The mission of Warrior at Ease is to bring the power of yoga and meditation to military communities around the world.
